I'm Dhai, an artist based in Qatar. I was born in 2001. I studied at VCUarts Qatar and majored in Painting and Printmaking. My art explores the nostalgia of childhood through drawings, expressive characters, and playful designs inspired by the cartoons and video games I used to watch and play as a child—mainly focusing on storytelling and emotions. I use different mediums like acrylic paint, spray paint, and alcohol-based markers. I also paint and draw on various surfaces like wood panels, skateboards, canvas, and more. I enjoy using facial expressions and bold outlines to create works that draw the viewer's attention and sometimes help them reconnect with their inner child. I mostly use bright, vibrant colors in my work—though sometimes I explore monochromatic palettes. Recently, I've developed a huge interest in installation, as I learned about it in college and experimented with different techniques.
